New bone marrow collection method tested in small hip study
NCT ID NCT06388993
First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study compares a new bone marrow collection system to the standard one in 6 adults having hip surgery for bone loss. Participants give marrow from both hips, but only the standard-system sample is used during surgery. The new-system sample and a blood sample are sent to a lab to count stem cells, cytokines, and growth factors. The goal is to see if the new system collects better-quality cells, not to test a new treatment.
