Scientists test if a blueberry bar is as good as the real berry

NCT ID NCT04175106

Summary

This study aimed to understand how well our bodies absorb healthy plant nutrients from blueberries. Researchers compared two types of blueberries to a protein bar with matching nutrients and a control meal. They measured these nutrients in the blood and urine of 29 healthy volunteers over several months to see if processed foods can deliver the same benefits as whole fruit.
