First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study tests whether bright blue light therapy can reduce pain and inflammation in adults with painful rib fractures. 75 hospitalized participants will be randomly assigned to receive blue light, white light, or standard room lighting for 4 hours each morning for up to 3 days. All participants will also receive standard pain treatments. Researchers will measure pain levels, confusion, and blood markers of inflammation to see if blue light provides extra relief.
