Sugar boost for cancer fight: BLOOM trial tests lactulose with immunotherapy

Summary

This study tests whether lactulose, a type of sugar, can make immunotherapy more effective for people with advanced cancer. About 55 participants will take lactulose alongside their standard immunotherapy to see if it increases helpful gut bacteria and improves tumor shrinkage. The goal is to find a safe, easy way to boost treatment response without adding harsh side effects.
