Blood test challenge: could a simple draw replace invasive cancer biopsies?

NCT ID NCT05057234

Summary

This study aims to see if a blood test (liquid biopsy) works as well as or better than a standard tissue biopsy to find genetic changes in advanced cancer that can guide treatment. Researchers will compare the two methods in 1,500 patients to see which one finds more actionable treatment targets and which approach is more cost-effective for the healthcare system. The goal is to gather real-world evidence on whether this newer blood test technology should become a standard part of cancer care.
