Which blood thinner is safer? new study seeks answers

NCT ID NCT02559856

Summary

This small pilot study aimed to see if a larger trial comparing two newer blood thinners (rivaroxaban and apixaban) for treating serious blood clots was possible. It enrolled 72 adults with newly diagnosed clots in their legs or lungs. The main goal was to test the process for a future study, while also gathering early information on which medication might cause fewer bleeding problems.
