Double blood thinner strategy after vein stenting under study

NCT ID NCT04694248

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using two types of blood thinners (anticoagulant plus antiplatelet) after a vein stent procedure helps keep the vein open longer and prevents blood clots from returning. About 172 people with deep vein thrombosis and a narrowed iliac vein will take part. The main goal is to see if the vein stays open at 12 months and to check for serious bleeding risks.
