Blood holds clues to rectal Cancer's future

NCT ID NCT02874885

Summary

This study aims to learn if tiny pieces of cancer floating in the blood can help doctors understand how rectal cancer responds to treatment. Researchers are collecting blood samples from 341 patients with rectal cancer and some healthy volunteers to track these 'circulating tumor elements' over time. The goal is to see if these blood markers can predict a patient's risk and how well their treatment is working.
