Blood test could track prostate cancer without biopsy
NCT ID NCT01961713
Summary
This study is testing a blood test that looks for cancer cells that have broken away from a prostate tumor and entered the bloodstream. Researchers want to see if the number of these cells in the blood before and after prostate removal surgery can tell them more about the cancer's status and the risk of it returning. The study involves 200 men with early-stage prostate cancer who are scheduled for surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
