New blood test could replace liver biopsies for silent liver disease

NCT ID NCT07502755

Summary

This study aims to see if a new blood test can accurately diagnose and track a serious liver disease called NASH, which is linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes. Researchers will test the blood of 828 people to see if measuring two specific markers (PLIN2 and RAB14) in white blood cells works as well as or better than current scans and scores. The goal is to find a simpler, non-invasive way to identify and monitor this condition without needing a liver biopsy.
