Blood clot warning sign hunt in ICU patients
NCT ID NCT05855317
Summary
This study aims to find out if a specific substance in the blood (called EV-TF) can help predict which patients with severe lung failure (ARDS) will develop a dangerous lung clot (pulmonary embolism). Researchers will enroll 170 critically ill patients in France, take a blood sample when they are admitted, and then see who develops clots over the next month. The goal is to gather knowledge to potentially improve future diagnosis and risk assessment, not to test a new treatment.
