NCT ID NCT06819917

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study aims to find new blood-based markers that can accurately detect liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with fatty liver disease. Currently, the best way to check for scarring is a liver biopsy, which is painful and risky. Researchers will collect blood samples from 575 adults with suspected fatty liver disease and compare the results to their biopsy findings. The goal is to develop a simple, noninvasive test to diagnose liver fibrosis stage.
