Blood test may boost colon cancer screening in underserved groups

NCT ID NCT07436637

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether offering a simple blood test (called Shield) can encourage more people who are overdue for colon cancer screening to get checked. About 500 adults aged 45-85 will be randomly assigned to either receive a standard reminder or also have the option to give a blood sample for screening. The goal is to see if the blood test option increases the number of people who complete screening within 6 months.
