Simple blood test could replace thousands of unnecessary colonoscopies

NCT ID NCT07237984

Summary

This study is testing whether a new blood marker can help doctors better identify who needs a colonoscopy for colon cancer screening. Researchers will analyze blood samples from 2,000 people scheduled for colonoscopies to see if this marker, combined with existing stool tests, can more accurately detect cancer and precancerous growths. The goal is to reduce unnecessary invasive procedures while still catching cancer early.
