Can a 'Tourniquet' workout speed up teen Athletes' knee comebacks?

NCT ID NCT05754632

Summary

This study is testing if adding blood flow restriction training (BFRT) to standard physical therapy helps teen athletes recover better from ACL knee surgery. BFRT involves using a cuff to briefly reduce blood flow to the leg during light exercises, which may help build muscle strength faster with less strain. The trial will compare 40 teens, aged 12-18, who are either doing standard rehab or standard rehab plus BFRT, to see which group regains leg strength, muscle size, and function more effectively.
