First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at 89 people with rectal or lower colon cancer to see how blood flow reroutes after surgeons tie off a major artery during tumor removal. Using special CT scans before and after surgery, researchers mapped different blood vessel patterns and checked if their predictions matched reality. The goal was to better understand blood supply changes to help guide safer surgeries.
