Simple arm cuff test could help stroke survivors walk longer

NCT ID NCT06027294

Summary

This study aims to understand why muscles tire more quickly in people who have had a stroke, focusing on how blood flow is regulated during exercise. Researchers will test a simple, non-invasive technique called ischemic conditioning—using a blood pressure cuff on the thigh—to see if it improves blood flow and reduces muscle fatigue. The study will involve 40 stroke survivors to measure changes in fatigue and physical function.
