Race against time: testing blood filters to save children from sepsis

NCT ID NCT05692011

Summary

This study is testing two different types of filters used in a blood-cleaning treatment for children with sepsis, a life-threatening response to infection. The goal is to see which filter is better at removing harmful inflammation-causing substances from the blood, which could help control the disease and improve survival. The study will involve 80 children, from newborns to 18-year-olds, who are in the early stages of severe sepsis.
