Cancer patients test easier blood clot prevention pill

NCT ID NCT07189897

Summary

This study is testing if a pill (apixaban) is a safe and easier-to-use alternative to a daily injection (enoxaparin) for preventing dangerous blood clots after head and neck cancer surgery. It will enroll about 76 patients who are scheduled for surgery. The main goal is to see if patients find the pill more satisfying and easier to stick with than the daily shot, while also checking for safety.
