First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to permanently prevent pregnancy called FemBloc, which is done in a doctor's office without surgery. It compared this method to standard laparoscopic sterilization (a surgical procedure) in 240 women aged 21-45 who wanted permanent birth control. The main goal was to check for short-term and long-term side effects in both groups.
