Doctors probe best way to stop dangerous bleeding caused by common meds

NCT ID NCT07333144

Summary

This study looks at how doctors at a French hospital manage severe stomach bleeding in patients taking direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), a common type of blood thinner. Researchers will review the records of 250 adult patients to see how often a clotting agent called prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) is used to try to stop the bleeding. The goal is to better understand current treatment practices, as the effectiveness and safety of PCC for this specific use are not well established.
