Summary

This study tests a bladder stimulation technique (gentle lower back massage and lower abdomen tapping) to collect urine from infants under 6 months in the emergency department. The goal is to see if this method gets cleaner samples faster than the usual adhesive bag. 124 infants will be enrolled to compare contamination rates and waiting times.

Active substance

Bladder Stimulation Technique (lower back massage and lower abdomen tapping)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could give doctors a faster, cleaner way to collect urine from infants, reducing contamination and wait times.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early study with only 124 infants, so results may not apply to all babies. The technique may not work for every child.
