Cancer radiation study tests whether empty or full bladder protects organs better

NCT ID NCT02865837

Summary

This study looked at whether keeping the bladder empty or filled during cervical cancer radiation treatment affects how much radiation reaches nearby healthy organs. Researchers compared two approaches in 22 patients to see if one method better protects the bowel, rectum, and other organs while still treating the cancer effectively. The goal was to find the safest way to deliver radiation to minimize side effects.
