Summary
This study adapted a program called STAT-ED to better support Black youth who come to the emergency room with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Researchers tested whether a patient navigator could help these young people and their families start and continue mental health treatment. The study included 54 Black youth ages 6-18 from Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.
