Could a bone drug help save hearing in brittle bone disease?

NCT ID NCT04152551

Summary

This study is testing if a common bone-strengthening drug (bisphosphonate) can help treat hearing loss in people with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease. The drug will be given to 100 adults and children with OI to see if it can slow down or improve their hearing over five years. Researchers are doing this because the drug has helped a similar type of hearing loss in people without OI.
