New program aims to help people with bipolar disorder stay stable after prison

NCT ID NCT03825640

Summary

This small pilot study tested a new support program for people with bipolar disorder who were leaving prison. The CARE program provided counseling and phone check-ins to help participants connect with mental health treatment and manage their symptoms during the difficult transition back to community life. Researchers wanted to see if the program was practical and acceptable, and if it showed signs of helping improve mood stability.
