First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a new breathing device called Biphasic Cuirass Ventilation (BCV) against standard non-invasive ventilation in 50 adults who are at high risk of breathing failure after being taken off a mechanical ventilator. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either BCV or standard care. The main goal is to see if BCV is as good as standard care at preventing the need for re-intubation.
