Dissolvable heart stents could replace permanent metal ones
NCT ID NCT02973529
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests two types of dissolvable stents (Absorb and Desolve) in 120 people with coronary artery disease. Unlike permanent metal stents, these stents are designed to dissolve after the artery heals, potentially reducing long-term risks. The goal is to see how safe they are and how well the artery heals after treatment.
