Summary

This study is collecting blood samples from 5000 people having heart, colorectal, vascular, or lung surgery to find biological markers that can predict serious complications like infections, kidney injury, or death within 30 days. The goal is to improve risk assessment and guide treatment decisions. Participants give five extra blood samples during their hospital stay, with no direct risks or benefits.
