First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study aims to find biological markers in urine and blood that can show if an athlete has been at high altitude or used the drug erythropoietin (EPO). Forty healthy runners will spend time at altitude and at sea level, and some will receive EPO injections. The goal is to improve anti-doping tests, not to treat any disease.
