Can a simple blood test predict immunotherapy success in skin cancer?
NCT ID NCT07064330
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study is enrolling 30 people with a common skin cancer called cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma who are about to start treatment with the immunotherapy drug cemiplimab. Researchers will use advanced lab techniques to analyze immune cells and molecules in participants' blood and tumor samples. The goal is to find biological markers that can tell doctors ahead of time who is likely to respond well to the drug and who might develop serious side effects.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Cemiplimab
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors predict which patients will benefit from cemiplimab and who might experience side effects, leading to more personalized treatment for skin cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage biomarker study (30 participants) that aims to observe and measure, not to test a new treatment. The findings may not apply to all patients or lead to immediate changes in care.
