First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a new biodegradable device to close a patent foramen ovale (PFO), a small hole in the heart that can cause strokes. About 258 people aged 18-65 who have had a stroke or TIA linked to a PFO will receive the device. The goal is to see if it safely and effectively seals the hole, reducing stroke risk without needing lifelong medication.
