Dissolving heart plug aims to prevent future strokes
NCT ID NCT07300358
Summary
This study is testing a new device made from a material that dissolves over time. It is designed to permanently close a small, common hole in the heart (PFO) that can allow blood clots to pass and cause a stroke. Researchers will compare this new biodegradable device to the standard metal ones to see if it is just as safe and effective at sealing the hole and preventing future strokes or mini-strokes.
