NCT ID NCT01177475

First seen May 14, 2026 ยท Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether natural (unprocessed) or pasteurized milk helps the gut mature faster in very premature babies born between 28 and 30 weeks. Researchers gave 55 infants small amounts of either natural or pasteurized milk and measured how their digestive systems responded. The goal was to understand which type of milk provides better support for gut development in these fragile newborns.
