Dissolvable nose implant offers drug-free breathing relief

NCT ID NCT05967169

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This early study tested a new dissolvable implant that straightens the wall inside the nose (the septum) to help people breathe easier. 21 adults with a crooked septum received the implant in a short procedure. The implant is made of a material that the body absorbs over time, so no surgery is needed to remove it. The goal was to see if the implant could be placed safely and stay in place while the nose heals.
