New drug aims to shield lungs during cancer radiation

Summary
This study is testing whether a drug called BIO 300 can help protect the lungs of patients who have both early-stage lung cancer and a separate lung scarring disease (interstitial lung disease) when they receive radiation therapy. The main goal is to see if BIO 300 can prevent severe lung inflammation (pneumonitis), a dangerous side effect of radiation in these patients. The trial will enroll about 25 adults to receive BIO 300 alongside their standard radiation treatment.
