Gut clues: could bile acids predict c. diff risk in kids with colitis?
NCT ID NCT06228352
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at children with ulcerative colitis (UC) to see if changes in bile acids and gut bacteria make them more likely to get a C. difficile infection. Researchers will compare bile acid profiles in 80 children: those with active UC and C. diff, those with active UC alone, those in remission, and healthy kids. The goal is to understand why UC patients face higher C. diff risk, not to test a treatment.
