First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested hand transplants in 7 people who lost both forearms. The goal was to see if the brain could adapt to the new hands and improve daily life. Participants had to take lifelong anti-rejection medication, so this is a disease control approach, not a cure.
