Summary

This study tested whether a new drug called BHV-7000 can safely and effectively treat manic episodes in people with bipolar I disorder. 274 hospitalized adults took either the drug or a placebo once daily for 21 days. The main goal was to see if the drug reduced mania symptoms, measured by a standard rating scale.
