Scientists try to 're-sensitize' resistant cancer cells to chemo

NCT ID NCT04664829

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested whether a drug called bexarotene could make chemotherapy-resistant triple-negative breast cancer cells vulnerable to treatment again. Researchers gave bexarotene to 12 patients with advanced, taxane-resistant cancer, hoping it would change the cancer cells' state and restore their sensitivity. The main goal was to see what biological changes happened in the tumors after treatment.
