New 3D method could help doctors better track cancer treatment effectiveness

NCT ID NCT07319767

Summary

This study looked at whether a new 3D measurement method (TDTP-RECIST) works better than the current standard (RECIST 1.1) for tracking how irregularly shaped tumors respond to pre-surgery treatment. Researchers reviewed past medical scans and records of 120 adults with breast, pancreatic, or biliary cancers who received treatment before surgery. They compared how well different measurement methods predicted what was actually found in the tumor tissue after removal, aiming to help doctors choose the best tool for future patients.
