Study seeks to fix flawed thyroid test results

NCT ID NCT06083636

Summary

This study aims to improve blood tests for people with an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) who take replacement hormone medication (levothyroxine). Researchers want to see if newer or different blood markers can give a more accurate picture of a patient's thyroid hormone levels than the standard tests currently used. They will compare blood samples from 500 patients and healthy volunteers to find the best way to monitor treatment, especially for patients where the usual test (TSH) doesn't work well.
