Can a computer help surgeons have better talks with patients?

NCT ID NCT07475104

Summary

This study is testing two different ways to train surgeons to communicate more clearly with older patients before surgery. It compares traditional coaching by a specialist against a new automated method that reviews transcripts of doctor-patient conversations. The goal is to see if the automated training works as well at helping surgeons explain surgery goals, risks, and what to expect, so patients can make better-informed decisions.
