Standing scan for better fit: new tech aims to ease amputee discomfort

NCT ID NCT05749952

Summary

This study tested a new digital system for creating prosthetic sockets while the user is standing and bearing weight. It compared this new method to the traditional way of scanning a limb while sitting. The goal was to see if the new approach leads to a better-fitting, more comfortable socket that improves walking, balance, and the overall health of the residual limb.
