New ER test could spot senior pneumonia faster

NCT ID NCT06092008

Summary

This study aims to create a better, more accurate way to diagnose pneumonia in older adults who come to the emergency department. Researchers will observe 250 patients aged 65+ with suspected pneumonia to see if new blood markers can help doctors tell if it's bacterial, viral, or a mix. The goal is to develop a clear, easy-to-follow diagnostic checklist for hospitals.
