New nerve block cuts pain after gallbladder surgery
NCT ID NCT07176299
Summary
This study tested different ways to manage pain after laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery. Researchers compared a specific nerve-blocking technique (TAP block) against standard local numbing injections in 160 patients. They found the TAP block provided better pain relief for up to 24 hours after surgery and led to fewer wound-related problems.
