New study aims to improve feeding for tiny newborns
NCT ID NCT07236957
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 preterm babies who were small for their age and needed IV nutrition. Researchers compared two methods to calculate their nutritional needs: using the baby's actual birth weight versus a corrected weight (the weight they would be at the 10th percentile). The goal was to see which method led to better weight gain during IV feeding.
