Sharper eye scans aim to pinpoint cause of vision threat
NCT ID NCT04448613
Summary
This study tested whether new, high-resolution MRI scans could help doctors more accurately diagnose the cause of optic disc swelling. Optic disc swelling is a sign seen at the back of the eye that can be caused by many different eye or brain conditions. Researchers enrolled 197 adults with this swelling to see if the detailed MRI images improved diagnostic confidence and accuracy.
