New breath-hold scan aims to spot hidden lung damage in transplant kids

NCT ID NCT04391335

Summary

This study is testing if a special type of MRI scan, where children hold their breath while inhaling a safe gas, can help doctors spot a serious lung condition earlier. The condition, called bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome, can happen after a child receives a stem cell transplant. Researchers want to see if this new scan works better than standard breathing tests for 15 children aged 6 to 17.
