New heart scan may predict surgery survival better than old method
NCT ID NCT07151495
Summary
This study aims to see if a newer, more detailed type of heart ultrasound (called speckle tracking) can better predict survival and other health outcomes for patients having surgery for a leaky mitral valve. It will compare this new scan's predictions against the current standard method of measuring heart damage. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors make better decisions about when to recommend surgery.
